The Legendary Tigerman is the stage name of Portuguese musician and composer Paulo Furtado.
With a solid career, coming from DIY and characterized by the reinvention of genres such as Blues, Rock, or Garage Rock, always maintaining a punk vein, The Legendary Tigerman's recognition is founded on a galloping international career, marked by the release of the iconic album "Naked Blues" in 2001. In just a few years he went from cult artist to household name, and it was with the acclaimed "Femina" (2009) that he wrote his name in the pantheon of the most creative rock music made in Europe.
With "True" (2014) and "Misfit" (2018), he consolidated his position on the international rock scene with two albums that explored the dense soundscapes of a rock n' roll that strays far from the commonplace.
Live, the unstoppable rock machine, maneuvered by Paulo Furtado, Filipe Rocha, Cabrita, Mike Ghost and Sara Badalo, unleashes an explosive and unpredictable mass of sound, exactly as a "Rock n' Roll Act" is supposed to be.
The Legendary Tigerman's success extends beyond Portugal, with tours in various countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Alongside the stage, Paulo Furtado has been known for his outstanding career in theater, film, soundtrack creation, photography and directing.
Focused on being a catalyst for unique and authentic music, The Legendary Tigerman is one of Europe's leading Rock n' Roll names, renewing himself with each album with creativity and innovation.
In September 2023 he released "Zeitgeist".
"Zeitgeist" was born in Paris, somewhere between the decadent streets and sweaty clubs and was the first time he composed with modular synthesizers instead of guitars. The album features renowned national and international artists such as Anna Prior, Asia Argento, Best Youth, Calcutta, Delila Paz (The Last Internationale), Jehnny Beth, RAY, Sarah Rebecca and Sean Riley.
Between Paris and Lisbon, between the refinement of film music and the sweat of a rock club, a new Tigerman was born.
Somewhere between dance music and punk.
Somewhere between modular synthesizers and guitars.
Somewhere between raw and carnal.
Somewhere between the ethereal and the grand orchestrations.
